Our New Album

The song “I Wish I Lived a Hundred Years Ago” teleports the grumbling conversations between a father and daughter at their kitchen table to 1920s Winnipeg, where they reminisce about the quaint charm of the former world. Together, they turn their admiration for the simple and neighbourly spirit of olden times into a collection of lovingly crafted renditions of classic jazz covers.

The album “Songs from a Hundred Years Ago” by Erin and Joe Riccardo honours the sound, warmth, and feel of enjoying live music at a jazz lounge with loved ones. The album remains true to the 20s jazz sound, featuring the beautiful sounds of Martin Wyczykier on piano, Gianluca Amabili on guitar, Matthew Edwards on upright bass, and Joe Riccardo on alto sax and flute.

While this project offered Erin and Joe the opportunity to escape their modern stresses, singing these songs together reminded them that, in the end, it wasn’t the era that mattered. What matters is the time spent together, savouring each moment.
